County Manager
Duties of the County Manager
The Apache County Board of Supervisors hires a county manager who in turn hires department managers to conduct the daily business of the county. The county manager carries out the mandates of the board, working closely with the department heads and elected officials, to ensure the county is functioning according to those mandates. He also represents the county at various statewide and national meetings, looking out for the best interests of the county.
Duties of the Clerk of the Board
The clerk of the board is appointed by the Board of Supervisors and is responsible for preparing the agenda for Apache County Board of Supervisors’ meetings, taking minutes at board meetings, and writing the minutes and preserving them for the permanent record of the county. The clerk is responsible for documents received and generated by the Board of Supervisors and also has various statutory responsibilities related to board actions and duties.
Board of Supervisors Meetings
Apache County Board of Supervisors meetings are normally held the first Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. Notices and agendas for all regular and special Apache County Board of Supervisors, The Apache County Flood Control District, The Apache County Library District, The Apache County Public Health Services District, The Apache County Juvenile Jail District, and The Apache County Jail District Meetings will be posted at least 24 hours prior to the meeting at the Apache County Courthouse, County Annex Building in St. Johns Arizona and on the county’s website.
